Delivery & Pickup Information

Most items on our website are considered pick-and-pack items unless they are custom-made (such as custom drains) or need to be fabricated (such as items from our Structural Steel category)

For courier deliveries, it's essential to have someone present to receive the order and ensure its safe delivery to your doorstep. In most instances, if no-one is home and cannot be contacted then the delivery will be returned to the depot and a calling card will be left, another delivery fee may be charged if contact is not made and goods are returned to us. To sure ensure speedy uncomplicated delivery please provide us with a contact phone number. Most deliveries do not require anyone to be home, if the courier company feels it safe to leave, they will leave the item.

Once you place your order, you'll receive a live tracker to keep you updated on its status. Our dedicated account management team is always available to assist you with any queries or concerns you may have.

We will send out at least one email notifying you of your tracking number and which courier company it was sent with. You may also get one from the freight forward company and one from the actual courier company.  We suggest you contact the courier company first if you do not receive your item. If this is unsuccessful, please contact our office for help.

In the case of structural steel, lintels, and T-bars, it's necessary to have someone present at the job site to receive and inspect the delivery. With truck delivery, our Hiab Loader Cranes will be there to deliver the steel, even if no one is there.

The timeframe for receiving your steel order may vary depending on the delivery method chosen. 

• Depot Collection: Delivery times vary depending on the depot location. For instance, deliveries to NSW typically take 1-3 business days, while deliveries to WA may take 3-5 business days. 
• Free Pickups: For pickups from our Sydney warehouses, the usual timeframe is the next day for eligible orders. However, this timeframe may vary for special or custom items.
• Courier: Delivery times for courier shipments vary depending on the destination. You can expect your order to be delivered within 5 business days across all state/territory capital cities.
• Truck: Delivery times for truck shipments vary depending on the destination. [Info required]

Please note that these timeframes are estimates and may be subject to change based on factors such as distance and logistics. For specific delivery timelines to your location, please contact us directly.

We will provide you with an estimated date for delivery of all parcels and while we make every effort to deliver by this time, all dates specified are estimates only. All courier companies nominated may change if we deem it to be necessary for whatever reason.  We will endeavour where possible to dispatch the item out with the chosen courier company.  Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee time of delivery.

Our trucks have Hiab cranes to handle large quantities of steel. If opting for pickup, our experienced team can assist with loading using our forklift, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free process.

Our commitment to customer satisfaction doesn't end with the delivery of your order. Our dedicated support team is here to provide assistance and address any post-purchase queries or issues you may encounter.

It is the customer's obligation to enter the correct delivery address details at the time of ordering. If you enter the wrong address, we are not obliged to re-send the order to the correct address at our expense.

We will not be held liable for any loss or damage resulting from late delivery. We offer insurance as an option.

Without limiting the operation of any other Terms and Conditions herein, we will not accept liability for any loss or damage arising from items lost, stolen or damaged after delivery has taken place

If when ordering a product is out of stock, we will send you an email notifying you of this and an expected time of delivery.

Steel Builders P/L reserve the right to cancel the order if the website determined shipping rate is less than the actual cost of delivery.
