Advantages of R4 Epoxy Coating Lintels - Stainless Steel Equivalent

R4 Duplex coatings are the ultimate choice for structural durability when building in severe marine environments. Choosing the right materials for your construction projects is crucial. RR4 duplex coatings are the ultimate choice for structural lintel solutions when building in severe marine environments. They are often considered the equivalent of stainless steel in performance. Our R4 duplex system is a cost-effective alternative to stainless steel and meets AS2699.3 standards.

Stainless Steel Alternative

Here’s why R4 Epoxy coating lintels should be your top choice:

1. Superior Corrosion Resistance

The R4 duplex coating creates a robust barrier against moisture and corrosive elements, making these Lintels, T-Bars, and Shelf Angles perfect for severe marine environments. The R4 duplex coating consists of a robust R3-rated galvanised base coat followed by high-build epoxy to complete the system.

2. Cost-Effective

Built-up profiles such as T-Bars and heavy-duty lintels are often impossible to obtain in the market using stainless 316 materials, making them cost-prohibitive. R4 duplex coated lintels offer the same durability and protection as stainless steel alternatives but at a lower cost, ensuring you stay within budget while still meeting all compliance requirements.

3. Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal

The smooth finish of the duplex coating not only enhances the appearance of the Lintels, T-Bars, and Shelf Angles but also allows for easy painting. This versatility makes them suitable for various design requirements and aesthetic preferences.

4. Proven Performance

R4 duplex coated Lintels, T-Bars, and Shelf Angles have been rigorously tested and proven to perform under challenging conditions. Their reliability ensures that your structures remain safe and stable over time.

5. Comprehensive Protection

The duplex coating provides complete coverage for all Lintels, T-Bars, and Shelf Angles surfaces, offering thorough protection against the elements. This comprehensive coverage ensures that all of these structural components are shielded from potential damage.

6. Compliance with Industry Standards

R4 duplex coated lintels meet and industry standards for structural performance and safety. This compliance guarantees that you are using a product that adheres and complies with Australian Standards, hot-dip galvanised to AS/NZS 4680, coated with a duplex coating to satisfy the durability requirements of AS 2699.3:2020 (Built-in components for masonry construction), AS 4773.2:2015 (Masonry in small buildings), and AS 3700:2018 (Masonry structures). It is marked and labelled as standard to meet AS2699.3.2020.

By choosing R4 duplex coated Lintels, T-Bars, and Shelf Angles, you are investing in a product that is compliant with Australian standards and is equivalent to 316 Stainless Steel – ASTM A240 316L (UNS S31603), which doesn’t break the bank. Whether you are working on a small domestic project or a large commercial build, these R4 duplex coated lintels offer the performance and peace of mind you need to ensure the success and longevity of your construction projects in severe marine environments.
